Our Social Services Department provides confidential support of residents of all ages-from children and teens to adults and seniors. We work alongside individuals and families to identify needs, connect them with resources and provide personalized support during difficult times.
Services may include emergency assistance, counselling, crisis intervention, advocacy, benefits screening, fuel assistance, home visits, support groups and resource referrals.
Medicare Open Enrollment (October 15 – December 7) Each year, Medicare recipients can review and change their health or prescription drug plans during Open Enrollment. We can help you compare plans to ensure you have coverage that meets your needs.
Medicare Savings Programs If your income qualifies, you may receive assistance paying for Medicare premiums, deductibles, or prescription costs. These programs are income-based and have no asset limit.
CHOICES Counseling CHOICES is Connecticut’s program for Health insurance assistance, Outreach, Information & referral, Counseling and Eligibility Screening.
Counselors offer free Medicare and Health insurance benefits explanation and enrollment assistance for Medicare and other related health insurance options such as: Medicare Part D, Supplemental policies, Medicaid, and low income assistance.

Energy Assistance through Alliance (formerly ABCD, Inc.): Can assist with heating bills for client’s that are income eligible. Assistance can be for clients that heat their house with electricity, gas, oil, and pellets. Applications are submitted to Alliance through the on-line portal or you may contact Alliance directly.

- Recent Gas or Oil bill
- Water Bill
- Proof of 4 weeks of any type of income within the last 3 months. For all adults in the home.

GENERATION POWER CT (formerly Operation Fuel)
Generation Power CT will administer an emergency energy assistance program for Connecticut residents in need of financial assistance to meet their home energy needs (electricity, gas, deliverable fuels), without an assets test. Generation Power CT will facilitate the emergency energy assistance program in (3) cycles for the Fiscal Year 2027 (July 1, 2026-June 30, 2027).

Operation Hope provides a food pantry and community kitchen for Fairfield and Easton residents.
CT Food Share provides a mobile food pantry with fresh produce, meat and dairy products.
Filling in the Blanks provides weekend meals to Fairfield Public School students and a mobile pantry.
Schoke Jewish Family Service of Fairfield County provides a kosher food pantry and kosher mobile food pantry.
Fridgeport provides a free community fridge.
Homes with Hope provides a food pantry and community kitchen for neighbors in need.
Black Rock Food Pantry provides weekly groceries, shelf-stable foods and fresh items when available.
Bridgeport Rescue Mission provides a food pantry, hot meals and free clothing and household items.
Kings Pantry provides a food pantry for neighbors in need.
Nourish Bridgeport provides a super food pantry and baby center.
St John's Family Center provides a community supper, food pantry and clothes closet.
Thomas Merton Family Center provides dining services, Eat Smart Pantry and cooking classes.
