What a wonderful way to spend an evening with family and friends. Bring the wood and some marshmallows and you’re ready to go! Fairfield Residents, 21 years and older, are able to reserve a Bonfire via our online registration website. Bonfire Season is from May 1st through September 30th. Reservations are able to be made as of March 11th at 9:00am. The Bonfire locations include Jennings Beach (J2 Entrance) and Jennings Beach (J6 Entrance). Bonfires at Lake Mohegan may be reserved from May 23rd thru September 6th Thursdays through Sundays only. Please note, alcoholic beverages of any kind are not permitted in any Town of Fairfield park. Food trucks are not permitted. Only one bonfire reservation may be purchased per household.

A $100.00 fee will be collected via Credit card at the time of booking.
- Refunds (minus a $10 admin fee) will only be given if permit is cancelled 3 weeks prior to reservation date.
- In instances of Inclement Weather, a call must be made to the Rec Office the next business day to reschedule. If no dates are available, a refund will be processed.
- Following your confirmed reservation and payment, a permit will be emailed to you which includes the Permit To Burn. Be sure to have your Permit to Burn/Receipt with you the night of the event.
- The Bonfire Permit will give specifics about setting the bonfire itself. Fires must be prepared in the fire pit provided. Please be ready to specify date & preferred location.
- Site 1 - Jennings Beach - Ramp J-2 (Map)
- Site 2 - Jennings Beach - Ramp J-6 (Map)
- Site 3 - Lake Mohegan (Map)
- The permittee must have both their Permit to Burn and a valid form of identification available on the evening of their bonfire to present to the Fire Marshal upon request.
- Bonfire permits are non-transferable and may not be subcontracted or sold under any circumstances.
- All cancellations must be communicated to and processed directly through Fairfield Parks & Recreation.
- Firewood ONLY may be burned and is not provided. Wood Pallets are forbidden as they leave nails in the sand. Use of tires or chemicals is not approved for starting the fires
- Before leaving beach, fire must be extinguished by dousing with water. Do not cover with sand.
- Beaches close at 11:00 PM. All persons must leave premises by 10:30 PM.
- Beach Stickers are necessary from Memorial Day Saturday to Labor Day. Daily Parking Fees, for those who do not have a beach sticker, will be collected until 8:00 PM ($40 on weekdays and $50 on weekends and holidays). After 8:00 PM, there will be no entrance permitted without a sticker.
- Per Parks and Recreation Rules & Regulations sec. 11 - C, smoking and vaping is prohibited on all Town beaches, including the concession areas.
- Parking: Bonfire permittees are able to purchase up to three (3) parking permits for their non-resident bonfire attendees. Non-Resident vehicle license plates and date of bonfire required to purchase. Permits can be purchased at Fairfield Parks & Recreation (75 Mill Plain Road, Fairfield CT 06824) during standard hours of operation. Display stub needs to be placed face-up on non-resident vehicle dashboard. These permits are non-transferable and non-refundable.
