Fairfield Teen Theatre is a community summer theatre consisting of three programs run for and by young people from 9 through 19 years of age. FTT has served Fairfield by offering a variety of presentations for the past 50 years. The members of FTT gain experience in all the performing arts: dramatic, visual, music & dance. Opportunities in the non-performing aspects of the theatre are available: business, advertising & sales as well as costuming, construction, lighting, make-up, & the collection of properties. All aspects of play production are open to the members under the guidance/instruction of professional & apprentice staff members. A Broadway Show trip, 4th of July pie sale, program advertising & car wash are planned for Magic Box & Main Stage participants, as we believe it is valuable for teens to understand the financial part of producing theatre.

Main Stage & Magic Box participants may choose to pay the entire $450 fee at Registration/Auditions or pay $200 at Registration/Auditions with the $250 balance due by June 12. All Magic Box & Main Stage financial obligations must be met by June 12.

Little Mermaid Jr
Pre-teen Players is a four-week program. Consistent attendance for the entire 4 weeks is critical for children with leading roles. This program will perform Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Jr. on Friday, July 24th 7:00pm & Saturday, July 25th 2:00pm.

All Pre-teens turning 13 years old in July should register for Magic Box.

Shrek the Musical
Program Dates: Monday – Friday, June 22nd – July 17th

Magic Box’s four-week program provides a small cast setting for teenagers and takes place at FLHS. Consistent attendance for the entire 4 weeks is critical for all cast members. This program concludes with three performances of the Shrek Jr. The Musical Friday July 17th and Saturday July 18th @8:00pm & Sunday July 19th @ 2:00pm.  Registration is required for this group on May 11th or 12th FWMS auditorium from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. If you would like to be considered for a leading role, please prepare to sing 16 bars of a show tune to perform at registration. No audition is required for inclusion in the ensemble of this show. Audition Sign-Up Genius link will be announced in the summer brochure.

The fee is $450 per participant. Credit card or check accepted payable to Fairfield Parks & Recreation. Payment may be split with $200 paid at registration followed by the $250 balance due by June 12th.

Performances will be Friday, July 31st & Saturday August 1st at 8:00pm, Sunday, August 2nd at 2:00pm, Friday, August 7th & Saturday, August 8th at 8:00pm, Sunday, August 9th at 2:00pm.

Main Stage’s six-week program is the most advanced of the groups & provides opportunities for large numbers of teenage cast, crew, & orchestra members. Extended absences of more than 5 days will limit role opportunities or possible cast acceptance. Past shows performed by this group includes: INTO THE WOODS, SEUSSICAL, BEAUTY & the BEAST, big THE MUSICAL, LITTLE WOMEN, THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL, LES MISERABLES School Edition, RENT, SHREK, LEGALLY BLONDE, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, THE ADDAMS FAMILY, HAIRSPRAY, SCHOOL of ROCK, MAMMA MIA!, CHICAGO Teen Edition, Disney’s NEWSIES. Consistent attendance for the entire 6 weeks is critical for all cast members. No multiple-week absences are allowed. Show title and audition Sign-Up Genius link will be announced in the summer brochure.  This program concludes on Monday, August 10th for clean-up. Auditions are required for this group May 11th or May 12th at FWMS auditorium from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. Please prepare to sing 16 bars of a show tune to perform at registration.
